I have been a member of the Maysville Abbey since it's inception and in April of 2006 I was elected to the post of Claustral Prior. I am a strong advocate of living better through diet, exercise and meditation. I make my home in the beautiful town of Maysville, Georgia. My husband, Geof, and I have two dogs and four cats. I enjoy testing new recipes in our kitchens or playing with the dogs and cats around the Abbey. I try to keep our little feathered friends fed, by working with both natural and man made bird and wildlife feeders. In 1997 I earned an Associates in Arts for Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta. I graduated in 2001 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Science, Consumer Foods. I became a Certified Lactation Consultant in 2009 with the Center for Breastfeeding. I was Ordained in 2010 by both the Order of the Leaf and the Universal Life Church. The Order of the Leaf elected me as a Friar of the Church in 2010 and also granted me the title of Wedding Officiant. I hold five certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Disaster response and preparedness activities. I also hold both Basic and Advanced Storm Spotter Certifications from the Nation Weather Service's Skywarn program. I am a member of the American Association Of Wedding Officiants. I chair the Financial Committee and am a voting member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee. I hold a Technician Class Amateur Radio License. I was elected as President of the Maysville Abbey Amateur Radio Club in 2008 and again in 2010 and am an Assistant Emergency Coordinator for Banks County ARES. As a member of the President's Citizen Corps, I serve my community as an Volunteer on the Banks County Community Emergency Response Team (Banks CERT). |
